Summary:
I am currently engaged in two distinct projects: "Development of a Targeted Mass Spectrometry-Based Analysis Tool for Protein-Protein Interactions (PPIAT: Protein-Protein Interaction Analysis Tool)" and "Discovery of Structural Protein-Based Diagnostic Biomarkers in Alzheimer's Patients."
The primary focus of the PPIAT project revolves around the development of analytical capabilities necessary for the identification of physical protein-protein interactions using targeted mass spectrometry techniques. This entails tasks such as predicting interacting partner proteins with target proteins and automating the calculation of their monoisotopic mass values across various interaction scenarios. This research avenue is driven by a keen interest in advancing our understanding of protein interactions, with potential applications spanning multiple domains.
On the other front, the second project, "Discovery of Structural Protein-Based Diagnostic Biomarkers in Alzheimer's Patients," seeks to uncover specific protein interactions that are crucial in the context of Alzheimer's disease. The central aim here is to predict proteins that engage in physical interactions with APOE, a protein recognized as a significant risk factor in Alzheimer's pathology. By elucidating these interaction sites and patterns, the ultimate goal is to lay the foundation for the development of novel therapeutic interventions for Alzheimer's disease, grounded in a comprehensive understanding of protein structures and their implications.
In essence, my academic pursuits are deeply rooted in the exploration of disease biomarkers and the intricate landscape of structural interactions among proteins.
