(1) Development of Integrin αvβ3 peptide inhibitor 

• Summary

As an undergraduate researcher in the Protein Systems Laboratory, I am working on developing selective peptide inhibitors targeting integrin αvβ3, which plays a key role in tumor angiogenesis and fibrosis. Due to structural similarities with other integrins, achieving specificity is challenging. To overcome this, I analyze 3D structures using PDB and AlphaFold to identify αvβ3-specific binding pockets. By comparing structural motifs across integrin subtypes, I aim to design peptides that mimic the binding interactions of known ligands. I also study known inhibitors and apply structure-based modeling tools such as docking and molecular dynamics simulations, along with AI-assisted peptide design. My goal is to create a highly selective αvβ3 peptide inhibitor through structure-guided and AI-supported design, ultimately contributing to the development of precise and effective therapeutics.
