(1) Deep Learning-Driven Development of Amyloid beta inhibitor
Summary
My current research focuses on developing Abeta peptide inhibitors, widely known as a core cause of Alzheimer's disease. A key feature of this research is its integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) -driven drug design with cutting-edge protein analysis technologies. The most crucial aspect of my work involves leveraging AI-based protein design platforms (e.g., RFdiffusion, ProteinMPNN) to design peptide inhibitors capable of suppressing the aggregation or toxic functions of Abeta peptides. I meticulously analyze the protein binding pockets associated with Abeta peptides and concentrate on designing peptide structures that can stably bind to these sites. The efficacy of these designed peptide inhibitors is predicted through in silico (computer) simulations, and their effects will be verified through real-world experiments. This approach has the potential to overcome the limitations of existing small-molecule drugs and offer a novel therapeutic strategy to effectively prevent or reverse Abeta aggregation.
